My favorite search engine (along with much of the rest of the world) is Google. I just love that when I go to their page, the design is spare and clean and not overwhelming me with so many options and ads that I don’t know where to let my eyes settle first. And yet they also bring in a bit of fun by playing with their famous logo – celebrating whatever the day may be. Today I was admiring the St. Paddy’s day offering, and then realized it was not by the original Doodler, but the young grade school winner of a contest by Google – Evan O’Sullivan Glynn.
That in turn got me thinking about how a grade school contest winner in my grade school might have had their artwork posted on the schoolroom pushpin bulletin board. With today’s technology, the winning artwork is seen by everyone who visits Google today (Google receives several hundred million queries each day), and then who knows what life it may take on in the future since, as we know, once something is posted it is always “out there”. Congrats to the kid who won this – I really like your style!

Oh so very cool. An interesting entry, and yes I did follow the Google link. Just like the ease of digital photography allowed me to finally get into taking pictures, I think the internet has enabled lots of folks to be more creative than they would be otherwise.
